Therapik works on the scientific principle that most insect venom is thermolabile (sensitive to heat). Therapik delivers heat in the precise temperature range necessary to deactivate the venom from over 20,000 different species of insects and sea creatures.
The Therapik relieves the pain and itch from bug bites and insect stings with the direct application of heat for 20-30 seconds in order to breakdown the venom and saliva proteins left behind after a sting or bite. This is what causes the pain and itch. Therapik also helps reduce the bite’s swelling by increasing blood flow to the bite or sting.

How to use Therapik
- Place Therapik® cylindrical opening on the affected bite or sting area
- Activate the Therapik® by keeping the large blue button depressed for 20-30 seconds or for as long as the heat is bearable on the skin or less than that if it feels too hot.
- The average application time is approximately 30 seconds. If pain and itch persists, Therapik® may be reapplied to the bite or sting until relief is obtained.
Wait 60 seconds between each application to allow skin temperature to return to normal.
Note:
- A brand name, 9V battery is required.
- For optimum heat output performance, use a new battery.
- If the heat is not felt or takes too long to feel the heat, it is probably time to change the battery.
How Therapik® works
The Therapik® is intended to be used to deliver heat to a localized area of the body in order to relieve the pain and itch associated with stings from insects and sea creatures that deliver thermolabile venom. Such animals and insects include bees, wasps, hornets and jellyfish. In addition, the soothing heat also provides effective relief from the itching and irritation due to flea and mosquito bites and contact with stinging nettles.
The Therapik® in not indicated for the treatment of spider, scorpion or snake bites, since these creatures do not deliver thermolabile venom. The Therapik® is also not intended to replace prompt medical attention for those individuals with bee-sting or other similar allergies. In the case of known allergies to insect stings, the user is instructed to seek prompt medical attention. The user is also instructed to consult a physician if pain from the sting or bite persists.
